We could say that one of the first things to do is to define what for the team was made at all, what it is supposed to achieve, or in other words what the goals of the team building are.Generally, most of the companies want to structure their team building activities so it would meet the following goals:Team building should clarify what the company’s mission and vision actually is, so there wouldn’t be any confusion about that;Team building activities should help leaders to see which members of the team are more suitable for some specific roles, so they could assign their employees the specific roles and responsibilities according to their personal skills;Team building should provide a faster startup for the newly formed teams or teams that just got new leaders;Team building should work as a simple mechanism that can help team members resolve any personal conflicts they have, so they wouldn’t affect their future teamwork;Team building should teach people how to respect other people’s working styles and ideas, instead of limiting them to their own opinions. There are sev eral main aspects of the team building process, so let us get into each of them and explain them a bit more.THE STRUCTURE OF THE TEAM BUILDING PROCESSIt is very important to structure your team building activities in the right way because there are a lot of factors that depend on it.First of all, it is crucial that there aren’t either too many or too few people, so everyone could be able to express their own ideas equally. If the team had a lot of people, they wouldn’t be able to equally participate in the conversation, due to the time limit, and if the team is small, then the cycle of ideas could get shorter.Secondly, the team should have a sufficient amount of expert knowledge, so people would be able to give facts and solid evidence to support their ideas. If this is not the case, there could be a lot of arguments.Because of all these things, it is important to plan the team building structure very carefully, so all bits would fit in and help everyone who participates to learn new things and enjoy at the same time.Personal Traits of Each IndividualEvery person is different; some are more talkative, while some prefer to keep to themselves. It is very important to create such an environment so everyone could participate. In order to have a successful team building session, you would have to make sure that all of your team members are able to contribute in some way, whether it is sharing of new ideas or performing some basic tasks, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that every team member participates in certain tasks. That requires a bit of planning and preparation for the team building event itself, so make sure to think it through. The Location or EnvironmentNow, as much as it is important to have a good team composition, it is also important where you are going to organize a team building process.Depending on the nature of the team building process, location or the environment setup could often be very important. If the process is just about doing some ment al tasks and playing some games together, then it is important to have a very cozy and relaxed environment, so people could feel like they are at home. That way, they would be much more relaxed and when we are relaxed, we tend to use our brain much better. On the other hand, what you could do is organize some special activities for your entire teams, such as climbing, rafting, small trips to the countryside or just some plain and simple paintball or laser tag.Decision-Making ProcessThe very goal of the team building process is for team members to learn how to work together in a more effective and efficient way, so they are able to make decisions and resolve problems faster. In order for them to do that, they need to be able to make decisions together, which means that even if someone doesn’t think the idea is right, people who think some solution is good should have solid evidence and persuade other people why their solution is better.Ultimately, they need to agree on what to do in o rder to solve the problem. That can only happen if they listen to each other, so you will need to teach very hasty individuals how to value other people’s opinions and how to respect the decision that was made.WHY DO BUSINESSES USE TEAM BUILDINGAs we have already mentioned, when working in a team, it is very important that team is effective, which can only be achieved if people in that team are able to work together and make good decisions without having to argue about everything for a long time.In order for them to be able to do that, they need to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses, to know how each and every one of them thinks, so they could complement each other. And the great way to meet your teammates is to spend some time together with them, by doing certain activities, perform special tasks or simply play some games. Here you can see one very funny team building game, called ‘Snakes’. There are six main areas where the team building has a very important role to p lay, so let’s get into it.1. Resolving ProblemsWhen it comes to resolving some usual every-day problems, individuals tend to do much better than teams, but teams are much more important when it comes to dealing with some complex issues that need to be carefully approached. That’s why team building is crucial, so people could resolve those complex problems much easier and faster.2. Quality DecisionsAs you’ve probably figured it out by now, having a team working on some problems is also good because different people have different ideas, which may result in finding the best possible solution to the problem much easier, that it would’ve been possible if only one person had worked on resolving one particular issue.3. Accurate DecisionsThis is directly linked to the previous fact.If there are more people working on the same problem, there would be more space for spotting and judging the wrong ideas, than if there was only one person doing it, since it is not that easy to judge you rself.Sometimes we all need someone else who would look at the problem from a different perspective and help us reach more accurate decisions.4. Risk AversionWhen you are working with a group of capable people, your confidence rises and you tend to be more open to some great, but also risky opportunities that could benefit greatly to your team and the company itself.5. MoraleTeam building activities tend to boost up the morale of the team members, in which case they usually perform much better and work harder to achieve what the company needs them to achieve. It leads to fewer mistakes and higher effectiveness.6. Learning SpeedIt is much easier to learn new things if you are working with a group of people, who all share their own ideas and suggestions. That helps not just you as an individual, but also the company, because they would get a very capable team.THE MOST COMMON QUESTIONS AND PUZZLE ANSWERSNow that we defined what team building and team building games are and explained why they are so important, let us introduce you to some of the most common questions and puzzles for team building games. Some of them are very brainstorming and it requires a bit of thinking to resolve them, but after all, that is one of the points of these games, to help your employees think wider and improve their problem-solving capabilities.1. 4th May 2006Question: What is so special about the 4th May 2006, specifically 2 minutes and 3 seconds after 1 a.m.?Answer: This date and time are so special because it was the only day in a hundred years (both in the past and the future) when the time in the United Kingdom was pronounced as 01:02:03, 04.05.06.2. Should the Past Be Judged Essay - 2294 Words

Should the Past be Judged? We can learn a lot from consulting the past. We learn more about our world, more about our history, and even more about ourselves. Spanish aphorist George Santayana once said: â€Å"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it† (qtd. in Moncur 1). In general terms, this famous aphorism means that it is important for us to study and learn from history in order to avoid repeating the same mistakes. However, the standards and values that we use today to judge the present are much different than they were in the past. What may have seemed like the right thing to do one hundred years ago might not be viewed the same way today. In her essay â€Å"At the Buffalo Bill Museum, June 1988,† Jane Tompkins†¦show more content†¦Cody’s Wild West shows weren’t just used to preserve the buffalo species; they were used to depict his actions as an Indian fighter. â€Å"Buffalo Bill was a plainsman, but the place he might have held on the pic ture plane of the West was severely compromised and ultimately lost to the theatrical pretentions of the Wild West Show† (Momaday 638). For Cody, these shows were just a transformation into an imitation of himself. â€Å"The great fascination and peril of Cody’s life was the riddle of who he really was. The thing that opposed him, and perhaps betrayed him, was above all else the mirage of his own identity† (Momaday 631). In this essence, it is important for us to judge the past. Despite his treatment of the Indians, Cody is still an authentic American hero. Buffalo Bill isn’t the only figure in American history to be viewed in this controversial manner. Consider the actions of Christopher Columbus after discovering America. In 1492, Columbus set out on a voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in an effort to prove that the world was round. After spending two months at sea, Columbus finally reached what he thought was India but was actually Central America. Columbus is credited for being the first to generate European awareness of the American continents in the Western Hemisphere. Shadow By Jane Urquhart Essay Example For Students

Shadow By Jane Urquhart Essay In the poem Shadow by Jane Urquhart, the sun is personified to reveal the significance of this element of nature through the development of it rising everyday and the task of waking a human being. The author develops stages the sun rises in the morning to make it evident that there is a final objection. She also refers to the sun ashe? to emphasize its importance. The sun plays the major role of beginning the day and starting a new year. Jane Urquhart uses the objects in a house owned by a human to play down the humans values. If it were not for the sun rising each day, there would be no life. The sun in this poem is personified into a human being by referring to the light it produces ashe? and making it as if a person was waking up the day. The light goes about waking the inanimate objects in the house whenhe polished your tables? (l 19). This is the way the table is woken up and ready for the day. The author writes the areas in which the light affects in a sequential order until it wakes up the person. It starts toenter from the garden? (l 12), continues through the house bymoving on the carpet? l 3) and completes its task byburning at the flesh of your neck? (l 26). By having the cycle in this order, the sun can be seen as a person who completed the task of waking up another person. Personification is used over and over in this poem to emphasize the task the sun has on its hands. By personifying the sun, it is easier to recognize how important the role of the sun is in initiating the day. Having human values being taken over by the light and heat of the sun develops its significance. When the sunmoves his arms across/your memories/substituting light/heat and silence? l 7-10), it is playing down the value you have on the pictures that are on your dresser. The light skims across your value and replaces the importance you put on it (memories) with its own heat. In the same way, the suns importance is stressed whenhe erases last years/conversations with the stars? (l 1112). From these lines, the role of the sun is seen as a crucial part in one year going forward to the next. After a year has gone by, regardless of what issues or setbacks may have occurred, the sun must wipeout everything and start its cycle all over. This once again replaces human values with the role of the sun. As well, authority is given to the sun when itdecides to/enter from the garden? (l 1-2). It gives the sun the initiative to decide to begin its process and therefore it is in control over the day. The sun has the ability to end anything of large or small magnitude either on a daily basis or a yearly basis by rising in the morning. By recognizing the role the sun plays, we are able to see one of its finished tasks- the waking of a human. The waking is built up by the actions that take place before the person awakes. The suntouches all your furniture/crawls under your closet door/investigates your wardrobe? (l 3-6). This is evidence that the sun is actually looking for something to influence and has to go through the house in order to reach a human. Clearly the person is lying in a bed through almost the entire poem because if the sunstops burning/at the flesh of your neck? (l 25-26), it would indicate that the neck is the only part of the body exposed to the sun. Therefore, a person is lying in a bed with covers to their neck. .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 , .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .postImageUrl , .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 , .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:hover , .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:visited , .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:active { border:0!important; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:active , .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2 .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u89aaeba15307cb27e6253cab9e8605d2:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Homo Suburbiensis, Drifter's and Life-Cycle, Bruce Dawe, a well renowned Australian poet was born in 1930 in Geelong EssayIt is evident that the individual is awake after the sun has reached them because it says, you are the only shadow in the room? (l 27). At this point, the person is standing because in order for a shadow to be created, the sun must be hitting the human from above while they are vertical with a surface. In this poem, the sun has completed one of its tasks of waking up a human being. The sun does this by allowing its heat and light to be placed on the individual. This poem can be summed up by a simple equation: light equals life. Because of the suns important function, the world is able to begin each day starting with the sun rising. The personification used gives the sun and light meaning and importance by continually referring to the sun ashe? and having it complete human tasks. The cycle of the sun daily and yearly is stressed to show the crucial role the sun plays. One of the suns tasks is to wake up someone in the morning and this is apparent in the poem. Jane Urquhart shows us the importance of the sun through personification and the down play of human values.
